Things Are Going Well

We're not exactly sure when or how the name got started, but Leah and I have long described the status of our relationship as "Things Are Going Well."

Neither of us interested in getting married. I won't get too detailed on that history here, but simply put, neither of us are religious and also don't need the government involved in our relationship. The problem we found is that we still wanted to have a party! So we did. A Things Are Going Well Party.

My parents and Leah's parents had not met each other at this time and we were 6 months from starting our year-long trip. We invited our families and a handful of friends to come to VA and celebrate the fact that Things Are Going Well. Leah's brother Adam hosted the party at his beautiful cabin in southwest VA. We had an amazing weekend with everyone enjoying live music, LOTS of drinks, and delicious Wilson Farms beef for every meal. We're so thankful that so many people made the journey.

Our wonderful friend Meghan put together a surprise for us after the party. We asked people not to bring us gifts for a few reasons; We we already trying to get rid of our belongings in preparation for travel, and we also knew people spend a lot of time and money to get to our party. Even after that, Meghan put together an account for us to receive gifts that relate to our voyage around the world.
