Ireland - I am coming home!

Well, none of the musicians in the many pubs knew Ireland by Garth Brooks, but we managed to have a good time in the Emerald Isle anyway. The Wilson Family Tour of Ireland was a complete success!

Our driver, Gareth, was the perfect tour guide. His personality and sense of humor matched ours perfectly and we had a blast together. We spent around 3 hours in the van each day, and it would have been a lot stuffier without Gareth. We’ve got loads of inside jokes, many of which stemmed from translation errors between thick Southern and Irish accents. I think I got a good amount of video footage on my GoPro, so I hope I’ll be able to put together a decent video to remember our trip together.

Our trip lasted from a Saturday to a Friday and we were able to do a large loop of Ireland (not Northern Ireland). We stayed in fancy hotels every night and even slept in a CASTLE one night.

Ireland’s landscape has a little bit of everything. We saw rolling hills, rocky mountains, bogs, ocean cliffs, beaches, forests, and ALL of it was a stunning green.

We also drank A LOT of beer. In the pubs, in the van, at the hotels. Jim Wilson was a wee bit scared because Ireland doesn’t have Michelob Ultra. He found a new favorite beer which is Rockshore Lager.
